Somatic Work
Healing and Awakening Through the Body
What is Somatic Work?
The word somatic comes from the Greek word soma, meaning “the living body in its wholeness.” It points not just to the physical form, but to the body as a direct, living experience—intelligent, expressive, and inseparable from our emotions, thoughts, sensations, and spirit.
Somatic work invites us to listen deeply to this living body. Through mindful presence and curiosity, we begin to access the body’s wisdom—its memory, its knowing, its capacity to heal and awaken. Rather than approaching the body as something to fix or control, somatic practices open a compassionate dialogue with what’s already here, allowing insight, regulation, and transformation to arise naturally from within.
1:1 Sessions
Our one-to-one sessions are a space for deep self-inquiry, healing, and reconnection. Together, we create the conditions for your body and inner wisdom to reveal what is ready to be seen, released, or understood.
I trust the body’s organic intelligence — when given safety, it naturally brings forward what needs attention. My role is to hold a broad, compassionate container where we can meet whatever arises with clarity and care.
What We Can Explore Together
Each session is shaped by both your intentions and the readiness of your body. You may come with:
a recurring pattern or limiting belief you wish to understand and shift
a sense of being stuck or unclear about the right direction to take next
overwhelm, nervous system dysregulation, or the need for support in returning to safety
a desire to reconnect with your authentic impulses and inner truth
In our work together, we meet these experiences with presence and curiosity. The process often brings deep insight, release of old patterns, and a renewed sense of self-trust.
Clients describe my way of working as creating a safe, spacious field in which they feel deeply held, supported, and able to reconnect with their own inner clarity.
Approaches I Work with
-
Body-Centred Therapy
Hakomi-based somatic psychotherapy
A trauma-informed, experiential therapy that uses mindfulness and somatic awareness to uncover and transform unconscious patterns. Grounded in the Hakomi method, these sessions support healing, regulation, and emotional integration through the body’s innate intelligence.
-
Somatic inquiry
A path of awakening through the body
A contemplative and spiritual approach to embodied self-discovery. These sessions guide you to attune to your felt experience with presence and curiosity—supporting you to deepen in authenticity, inner authority, and alignment with your true nature.
-
Tension & Trauma Release Exercises (TRE®)
A simple, powerful tool for nervous system regulation
A gentle yet powerful practice that helps release chronic stress and trauma held in the body. By activating the body’s natural tremoring mechanism, TRE supports nervous system regulation, resilience, and a return to grounded ease.

After this session, we’ll decide together what feels most supportive. I offer both single sessions and packages, and we can choose the rhythm and structure that best serve your needs.
The sessions are held in Brunswick Heads, NSW and Online.
